Our story
From the fire service to the forest
Devon Skerry spent his career responding when things went wrong — structure fires, storms, crashes, the calls nobody wants. That work leaves you with two things: a permanent respect for what can go sideways, and the habit of planning for it.
Skerry Timber Services LLC grew out of that. What started as cutting and clearing between shifts became a full-time, veteran owned small business serving Barrington and the surrounding New Hampshire towns — tree trimming, hazard removals, storm response, land clearing and certified timber harvesting.
Devon is an NH Timber Owners' Association Certified Logger and holds Game of Logging certifications 1 through 4, the industry standard for safe, professional chainsaw and felling technique. On larger jobs, excavators handle the heavy work: pushing brush, pulling stumps, cutting driveways and trails, and keeping crews out from under unnecessary risk.
The other half of the mission is less common in this trade. Devon talks openly about men's mental health, because forestry, firefighting and the trades all share the same quiet problem: guys who won't say when they're struggling. Skerry Timber is a tree company that also tries to be a reason to start that conversation.
